The NDC Register

Verify a qualification in NDC (Possums)

This register shows who is currently qualified through The NDC Institute. Neuroprotective Developmental Care (NDC or The Possums Programs) is constantly being updated as new research is published, so those listed here are up to date with their professional engagement with NDC content and resources. A listing is automatically removed if qualification lapses.

What each qualification means

How different NDC qualifications relate to a provider's scope and national professional registration.

NDC Lactation Fellow (NDCLF)

NDC Lactation Fellows are NDC Accredited Practitioners who have completed The NDC Lactation Fellowship, the highest level of professional development The NDC Institute (Possums) offers to registered health professionals. This qualification builds advanced clinical skills across all the Possums domains of care, with specialist depth in breastfeeding and lactation medicine and the research behind it.

NDC Accredited Practitioner

NDC Accredited Practitioners are the only professionals qualified and licensed to deliver Neuroprotective Developmental Care (NDC or The Possums Programs) in clinical practice. NDC Accreditation is restricted to registered health professionals, for example doctors, nurses, midwives, psychologists, and IBCLCs who also hold health professional registration in their own country. Accredited Practitioners may use the NDC Accredited name and logo.

NDC for Providers + Educators

Providers and educators are NDC-informed professionals whose scope of practice falls outside that of registered health professions, but who support families with babies and toddlers every working day. The NDC for Providers + Educators pathway teaches NDC approaches across the Possums domains of care. For example: doulas, childbirth and parenting educators, sleep consultants, and IBCLCs without health professional registration.
