Note: If a health professional isn’t listed here, they don’t have current qualifications to deliver NDC or Possums care. The Possums (NDC) Programs are constantly evolving with the latest research, and only licensed members of The NDC Institute stay up to date as this evidence is translated into practice through the unique Possums frameworks.
About NDC (Possums) Accredited Practitioners
What is NDC Accreditation?
NDC (Possums) Accreditation is the only professional qualification that allows registered health practitioners to deliver Neuroprotective Developmental Care - also known as the Possums Programs. It is an advanced professional training pathway taught directly by Dr Pamela Douglas that typically takes 12–24 months to complete, building on their existing clinical qualifications to advance professional expertise.
Why choose an NDC Accredited Practitioner?
NDC (Possums) Accredited Practitioners are registered health professionals trained directly by Dr Pamela Douglas in Neuroprotective Developmental Care (The Possums Programs). They support families across all areas of early life covered in the Possums domains, providing holistic, evidence-based care that’s gentle, practical, and effective. The Possums approach reduces unnecessary treatments and helps parents and babies thrive - and grow joy - in early life.
Who can become NDC Accredited?
Only registered health professionals who complete the NDC Accreditation Pathway and who continue their ongoing professional development through maintaining their NDC License can be NDC Accredited practitioners.
How does NDC Accreditation work, and how many practitioners are NDC (Possums) Accredited?
NDC Accreditation is a licensed standard. It entails rigorous training by Dr Pamela Douglas over an extended period, in addition to prior registration as a health professional. Accredited practitioners must maintain their licence through ongoing education to stay current with research and clinical standards in early life care.
Since the launch of the NDC Institute in 2023, around 150 health professionals hold an active NDC Accredited licence. Around 360 health professionals are currently in the accreditation pathway. The NDC Institute has around 560 members, and over 1000 if auxiliary courses are included. Membership or training is not the same as NDC Accreditation. Only practitioners listed on this page are NDC Accredited.
